Theatre Academy and master in Madrid

Dutch actress Relinde de Graaff studied at the Theatre Academy in Maastricht and did a master in film acting at the First Team Foundation in Madrid. She was taught by award winning film actors Assumpta Serna and Scott Cleverdon. After graduation, she started working as a freelance actress, but she continues improving her acting skills by following workshops organized by ACT Acteursbelangen and casting director Marina Wijn.

Films and series

She starred in various (short) films and television series. She played roles in, among others, Flikken Maastricht directed by Martin Schwab, FC Kip of the Dino Show directed by Willem van der Vet and in the telefilm Hemelrijken directed by Stanley Kolk. She also participated several times in the 48 Hour Film Project in Rotterdam. She participated four times on her own, devising, writing, filming, editing and starring in a short film, all done in 48 hours. One of these solo films was shown at the Pleinbioscoop in Rotterdam.

Awards and nominations

As the lead actress in the short film Lights Out by Wesley Versteeg, she won the prize for Best Actress in the Delta Shorts Competition – Film by the Sea International Film Festival. The Dutch actress was nominated four times as Best Actress at the 48 Hour Film Project and won the prize for Best Acting Ensemble together with Loes Schnepper, Rienus Krul and Eva van Welzenis.

Theatre

From 2019-2022, Relinde was one of the actresses of the theatre collective De Stad Speelt, founded by Fem Petraeus.

Relinde now works as an actress at Theater Group Bint, where she has learned to switch effortlessly between scripted scenes and improvisational theatre. Bint creates theater performances with meeting concepts to discuss difficult topics.

She can memorize complex texts in different languages. She is also a physical actor. Her flexibility and strength provide a good basis for physically challenging roles.

Foreign Languages

Relinde speaks fluent Dutch, English, Spanish, German and French and has basic knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic.

Through her bilingual secondary education, she learned to speak English fluently. She was taught Oxford English, and this made her accent British. Her accent is also called International English. It is a neutral English accent that can be used internationally. Relinde has appeared in several English-language films and theatre productions. For example, she appeared in films by Scenarios4Summits and she acts and improvises in English at Theatre Group Bint.
